Asteroceras

Suture: Ammonitic

This image shows the chambers of Asteroceras. Asteroceras had a slightly evolute shell, large, curved radial ribs, and a ventral keel. It had a simple ammonitic suture. Asteroceras was a predator of deeper waters in the Lower Jurassic.
